  • 2026-06-03 New premium template, the Mindful Spending Journal: log every purchase with how you felt and whether it was worth it, then watch your regret rate, worth-it score, and spending-by-mood patterns appear. The kind of insight a bank-linked app cannot give you.
  • 2026-06-03 Every generated sheet now opens on a clean Read Me page: a colour key showing exactly which cells to type into, plain-English guidance on the protected formula cells, and a one-click Clear Sample Data menu.
  • 2026-06-03 A live build animation while your template generates, so you watch the sheet come together instead of waiting on a blank screen.
  • 2026-06-01 In-app product tour: a Demo button under Dashboard on every screen opens the 90-second walkthrough, with a one-time welcome the first time you sign in.
  • 2026-06-01 Every Google Sheets template is now break-proof: the cells you fill in are cream, the formulas are protected so a stray keystroke cannot wreck them, and a BudgetBits menu clears the sample data in one click.

  • One-click bank statement upload: drop a PDF or image, an AI provider extracts the transactions, you review and commit. Reduces friction without ever connecting to your bank. We would choose a provider with no-training and no-storage guarantees; small softening of the no-third-party promise, transparent trade-off.
  • Local on-device statement extraction: same one-click upload, but the AI model runs entirely in your browser. Image never leaves your laptop. Privacy property stays pristine. Longer-horizon work.

What BudgetBits will not build, written publicly so you can hold us accountable.

  • Auto-connect to your bank. No Plaid. No read-access to your credentials. No exceptions.
  • Sell your data. Not to marketers, not to fintech aggregators, not to "research partners."
  • Dark patterns. No countdown timers, no pre-checked upgrade boxes, no guilt-funnel cancellation flows.
  • AI-generated financial advice without a human-in-the-loop disclaimer.
  • Bait-and-switch pricing on existing customers.
